Preesha Ramtohul Auchoybur

Biography

Preesha Ramtohul Auchoybur is the Senior Research Consultant at StraConsult, with expertise in social and economic research. She is based in Mauritius and has been working in the field of research for almost a decade. She is responsible for leading the production and delivery of research through innovative and diverse methodologies. Her duties also include managing a team of researchers, data mining, quality assurance and data analysis using predictive models and analytics systems. Prior to this, Preesha worked as a Senior Research Analyst at Circus Advertising Ltd, where she was responsible for conducting market research across various sectors using quantitative and qualitative methodologies. She also moderated focus groups and analysed data using data mining techniques to create PowerPoint presentations for clients. In her previous roles, Preesha worked as a Big Data Analyst at Hospitality Plus Ltd, where she explored and analysed large data sets for the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Agency using Power BI, and as an Intern under the Service to Mauritius Programme at the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, where she worked on compiling data for the three-year strategic plan and ad-hoc projects. Preesha has also worked as a Research Analyst/ Research Executive at Kantar TNS and as an Assistant to Claims and Underwriting Department at African Reinsurance Corporation. She started her career as a Young Graduate Trainee in the Statistics Unit at the Financial Services Commission.

Preesha is highly proficient in MS Office software, statistical packages like SPSS, R, Stata and Sphinx, and has strong analytical skills. She has also published papers on Factors Influencing Online Shopping in Mauritius and Fintech and Digital Banking: Perception and Usage in Mauritius.
