We are a pioneering pan-African survey research network established in 1999. We are formally registered as a non-profit company limited by guarantee headquartered in Accra, Ghana.
Our network includes more than 30 national partners across Africa, three core partners providing regional coordination, and two support units providing technical assistance. Our management team reports to the Board of Directors, and our International Advisory Council brings together global political and thought leaders who provide strategic intelligence, foresight, and influence in support of Afrobarometer.
Network governance
The Afrobarometer Board is responsible for overseeing the mission and purpose of the organization. The complementary role of Afrobarometer’s International Advisory Council’s is to provide intelligence, foresight and influence to support and promote AB internationally.

Network management
Our management’s secretariat is in Accra, Ghana. Other members of management are based in several cities across the continent, including Cape Town, Nairobi and Pretoria. Others are based outside Africa.
