Global release event in Dakar, Senegal on Africans’ top problems and priorities: New data from Afrobarometer

What do Africans see as their most important problems? What are their top priorities for government spending? How do these differ by country and demographic group?

Presentation of the survey findings, at 9:00 a.m. GMT on 17 December 2015 in Dakar, Senegal.

Please see the attached press release and the new report “Where to Start? Aligning sustainable development goals with citizen priorities”, published today (17 December) by Afrobarometer, the world’s premier source of reliable data on public perceptions and attitudes across Africa.

Based on interviews with almost 48,000 citizens in 32 African countries, these new continental statistics on citizens’ priorities will be of particular interest to policy makers and activists setting development policy agendas. Follow the release and the discussion on social media using #VoicesAfrica.

We invite you to use these data and to share them widely. We would be happy to provide further information and to arrange media interviews with our researchers in your country or at our headquarters.
