A majority of Mozambicans say their country is going in the right direction, the latest Afrobarometer survey shows.

A plurality (46%) of citizens consider the current economic condition of the country “fairly good” or very good,” although a substantial minority describe it as bad. Fewer than four in 10 citizens describe their personal living conditions as good.

While many Mozambicans report going without enough food and without a cash income during the past year, most say they expect the country’s economic condition to improve in the near future.
