The Afrobarometer National Partner in Malawi, Centre for Social Research, University of Malawi interviewed a nationally representative, random, stratified probability sample of 1,200 adult Malawians from 26 December 2016 to 3 January 2017. A sample of this size yields country-level results with a margin of error of +/-3% at a 95% confidence level. Previous surveys have been conducted in Malawi in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2012, and 2014. The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation provided technical backstopping for the survey.
