The Afrobarometer National Partner in Botswana, Star Awards, interviewed a nationally representative, random, stratified probability sample of 1,200 adult Batswana from 22 June to 4 July 2017. A sample of this size yields results with a margin of error of +/-3 at a 95% confidence level. Previous surveys have been conducted in Botswana in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2012. Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) in South Africa provided technical backstopping for the survey.
