Mavis Amedegbe
Biography
Mavis Amedegbe is a communications professional with experience in international development, agriculture, and social impact initiatives in Ghana and West Africa. She serves as Snr. Knowledge Management and Communications Officer at the International Potato Center (CIP). In this role, she develops and implements strategies to promote research on potato, sweetpotato, and root/tuber crops, focusing on food security, nutrition, and climate-resilient agriculture. Previously, at ACDI/VOCA and its affiliate AV Ventures, she supported communication efforts for agribusiness investments, SME financing, and market systems development. She produced impact stories, and led the RootsToFoods podcast series, infographics, and knowledge materials highlighting inclusive growth and value chain innovations. Earlier, she worked with Hope for Future Generations (HFFG), a National NGO, where she led advocacy campaigns on public health, women’s empowerment, education, and youth development. She holds a BSc in Information Technology from Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Ghana, and an MSc in Development Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Her blend of technical, managerial, and development expertise enables her to effectively connect research, policy, and community outcomes.
