Biography

Gedion Onyango (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is also a Research Fellow and Co-Investigator/National Investigator with The Firoz Lalji Institute for African’s (FLIA) Center for Public Authority and International Development (CPAID), London School of Economics and Political Science.

Gedion is an Associate Editor for Evidence and Policy journal and a Member of the Editorial Advisory Team for the Canadian Journal of African Studies. He has a PhD in Public Administration from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. Gedion is the editor of four books: State Politics and Public Policy in Eastern Africa: A Comparative Perspective, London: Palgrave Macmillan; Routledge Handbook of Public Policy in Africa, New York: Routledge, (2022), Public Policy and Technological Transformations in Africa Nurturing Policy Entrepreneurship, Policy Tools and Citizen Participation, London: Palgrave Macmillan (March 2023) and Governing Kenya: Public Policy in Theory and Practice, London: Palgrave MacMillan (2021), co-edited with Prof. Goran Hyden. 

His articles appear in some of the leading journals in politics and public administration.
