The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) is a government agency under the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that manages Norway’s international development aid. It manages grants for long-term aid in developing countries and for humanitarian aid. Norad’s primary goal is to contribute to reduce poverty and promote sustainable development. Norad focuses on several priority areas, including education, health, renewable energy, climate change, governance, gender equality, democracy and good governance, and sustainable economic development. The agency supports research and works to strengthen the capacity of research institutions in developing countries.
