INESOR is Afrobarometer’s national partner in Zambia.
The Institute of Economic and Social Research (INESOR) was established in 1938, as an interdisciplinary Social Science Research Centre of the University of Zambia (UNZA) conducting both basic and applied research in Agricultural, Urban and Rural Development, Economic Development and Business, Governance and Socio-Culture and Population and Health Systems. It has over the years built a reputation for capacity building of Policy and Programme Managers for both Government and non-Governmental Organisations. The Institute provides social scientists with an inspiring intellectual environment that promotes interdisciplinary and international research collaboration and academic freedom.
INESOR also provides consultancy and advisory services in various fields and organizes workshops, seminars and conferences to foster learning and dialogue between policymakers and the research community. It undertakes capacity building through short courses in operations research, research methodology, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, public policy analysis, strategic health communications and other demand-driven and tailor-made fields.
INESOR is the national partner of Afrobarometer in Zambia since 2019. INESOR is in charge of the implementation of the survey and the dissemination of the results. It carries out all the steps related to data collection, analysis of results, and dissemination to civil society, international institutions and organisations, the press, the administration, the nation, and all stakeholders.
