Established in 2002, GRADIS’ main objective is to provide a common framework for research, analysis and action to develop citizen participation through developing community life in Burundi. GRADIS was approved by Ministerial Order No. 530/836.
Since the beginning of the organisation, GRADIS has conducted research and studies in fields such as governance, anti-corruption, security sector reform, gender and human rights. We regularly produce contextual political analysis.
GRADIS has collaborated with the United Nations Development Programme as part of Burundi’s national strategy for good governance and anti-corruption. GRADIS has also worked with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) to organise an international conference on cross-border trade within the COMESA region. GRADIS is a founding member of the East African Civil Society Forum.
