Zimbabweans feel corruption is on the increase but fear reporting over possible consequences
The latest Afrobarometer survey shows that a majority of adult Zimbabweans believe the level of corruption in the country has increased over the past year. Coupled with this is the public sentiment by a large majority that the Government is doing poorly in its fight against the corruption scourge. Further, for a variety of reasons including fear of adverse consequences, incidents of corruption are underreported.
China has most influence on Zimbabwe but its development model is not the best
Just over half of Zimbabweans think that China has the most influence on Zimbabwe compared to that of other countries and international organisations. Nearly half also feel that China’s economic and political influence on Zimbabwe is mostly positive. However, only a fifth regard its development model as the best”.
Zambians’ trust in the judiciary still high but begins to decline, legitimacy also suffers
The percentage of Zambian citizens who recognize the legitimacy of the courts of law has declined from 79% in 2012 to 68% in 2014. The most recent Afrobarometer survey found that the percentage of Zambians who do not trust the judiciary has also declined from 62% in 2012 to 59% in 2014.

La 6ème série de l’enquête Afrobaromètre à Madagascar révèle que, les avis sont partagés quant aux apports du secteur minier, que ce soit les grandes ou petites mines, par rapport à la création d’emplois, la réduction de la pauvreté et la promotion du secteur privé national. Par contre, 4 Malgaches sur 7 (soit 57%) pensent que ces investissements ne contribuent pas du tout à l’amélioration de la sécurité. Ainsi, selon l’enquête, 76% des Malgaches trouvent que les exploitations minières contribuent à la création d’emplois et à la réduction de la pauvreté, et 69% déclarent que celles-ci contribuent à la promotion du secteur privé national.
