New: Geocoded data 1999-2015

12 Jun 2017

Afrobarometer data from Rounds 1-6 are now available with a layer of subnational location information that opens up exciting new possibilities for research. These first-of-their-kind data sets, reflecting the views of more than 200,000 African citizens geocoded to 28,000 towns and villages, are the result of a two-year partnership between Afrobarometer and the development research lab AidData. For more on our geocoded data and the AidData-Afrobarometer partnership, please see our blog.

To protect the privacy of survey participants, the use of respondent-level data is restricted to researchers, who may request access from Afrobarometer (see “Access to restricted data” below). Over the coming months, AidData will incorporate some of the aggregate data into its geo(query) platform; watch for coming announcements.
