Call for proposals to undertake interpretation services at the Afrobarometer@25 celebrations

Organizational overview

Afrobarometer (AB) is a pan-African, nonpartisan, nonprofit research network that tracks political, economic, and social conditions in Africa. Guided by the vision that African societies thrive when African voices count in public policy and development, Afrobarometer provides high-quality data and analysis on citizens’ evaluations and experiences of democratic governance and quality of life. This data is provided as a public benefit and is freely available to policymakers, policy advocates, civil society organizations, academics, news media, donors and investors, and ordinary Africans.

AB @ 25 celebrations

AB will turn 25 in July 2024 and we are planning a series of events to mark the anniversary. We are planning to launch the anniversary celebrations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with three flagship events which will host about 60 participants.

1. Launch of the AB Flagship Report

Afrobarometer seeks to launch the Flagship report on the 4 July in partnership with the African Union Commission and the African Governance Architecture (AGA). The formal launch event will be preceded by a panel discussion of the key findings of the report. Panelists will consist of a mix of African academics, researchers, policy actors/government and a representative from the Africa Union Commission/African Governance Architecture (AGA). Immediately following the panel discussion, the Guest of Honour will formally launch the report.

The launch of the flagship report will be followed by an all-youth panel discussion on democracy.

2. AB Founders’ Day

The AB Founders’ Day will be held on the 5 July in honour and recognition of the three co-founders (Profs. Emmanuel Gyimah-Boadi, Robert Mattes, and Michael Bratton) and their vision to promote citizen voices in public policy and development.
