Funders supporting Afrobarometer’s work expect a high level of utility, productivity, and transparency in the application of the funds. In line with these expectations, and to comply with statutory requirements, Afrobarometer’s board and management contract independent external auditors to audit its financial transactions and issue an opinion on whether the internal controls and principal accounting policies have been consistently applied, the underlying records have been accurately kept, and the financial statements produced are free from material errors and fraud and give a true and fair view of the status of Afrobarometer. The audited accounts are presented in accordance with requirements of the Ghana Companies Act and meet international reporting standards applicable to nonprofit organisations.
