Most Ghanaians describe their country’s economic condition and their own living conditions as “bad” or “very bad,” the latest Afrobarometer survey shows.
The findings also indicate that nearly four in 10 Ghanaians are pessimistic about economic conditions in the coming year. The data is being released as Ghana engages with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other development partners in an effort to boost international confidence and solicit support for the country's programme for economic stabilization and growth.

Ghana’s place at the forefront of African democracy and good governance has been called into question by a recent series of corruption scandals. Quite dishearteningly, some public officials have been found defending alleged wrongdoers in media discussion programs, and some whistle-blowers suffered reprisals instead of being protected.
The Afrobarometer Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (AB M&E Officer) will oversee all network M&E systems and procedures, and will design and implement upgrades to the existing M&E system as necessary. The M&E Officer will work closely with the M&E assistant, Afrobarometer Core Partners and Afrobarometer National Partners to track activities, outputs, achievements, visibility and impact of Afrobarometer work, and ensure that all project achievements are recorded and reported in a concise, accessible, and comprehensive format.
