| Because the Afrobarometer is funded from
public resources, its data are a public good. All data are released via this website
and other outlets, along with relevant codebooks. But, to allow initial in-house
analysis and publication, data will not be published in the two-year period following
the first release of any survey's results. Afrobarometer data
are protected by copyright. Authors of any published work based on Afrobarometer
data or papers are required to acknowledge the source including, where applicable,
citations to data sets posted on this website. In addition, we request users to
send copies of any publications, papers, or reports that employ Afrobarometer
data to Afrobarometer, Department of Political Science, 303 South Kedzie Hall,
Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48823, USA. To
access Afrobarometer survey data that are now available to the public, click
here. These are also available through the Inter-University Consortium for
Political and Social Research (ICPSR). http://www.icpsr.umich.edu Note
that for some surveys data is weighted to correct for either deliberate (e.g.,
to provide an adequate sample of specific sub-groups for analytical purposes)
or inadvertent over- or under-sampling of particular sample strata. In these cases,
a weighting variable is included as the last variable in the data set, with details
described in the codebook. These weighting factors should be used when calculating
all national-level statistics. |
